PhD Position in Plant Sciences-Switzerland

We are looking for Talented Young Scientists to join our Plant Biochemistry team. We are researching the pathways of carbohydrate metabolism and the molecular mechanisms that plants use to control them. New research projects will focus on the biosynthesis of storage carbohydrates.

This is an important and active field of research. Plant carbohydrates such as starch form the basis of human and animal nutrition and are renewable resources for industry. The research will use a combination of genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. For more information contact Prof. Samuel C. Zeeman (Tel: +41 44 632 8275; email szeeman@ethz.ch) or visit our homepagewww.pbc.ethz.ch.
Candidates should have a strong background in biology and an interest in plant sciences.
Experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, yeast biology, protein chemistry or mass spectrometry would be advantageous.
Our team is international. Fluently written and spoken English is required.
Apply by sending your CV and the names of two academic referees to Barbara Ritter, britter@ethz.ch, ETH Zurich, LFW E52, Universitätstr 2, CH-8092 Zurich, Switzerland
